“We must make the choices that enable us to fulfill the deepest capacities of our real selves.”
Dear Corpus Christi School Families,
I hope this letter finds everyone well and enjoying the summer months. It’s at this time that I usually get to reflect on an another fantastically busy year. And it’s been a healthy reflection at that when I get to consider how much Corpus Christi was able to accomplish. We welcomed many new teachers, added two Universal Pre-Kindergarten classes, began to field a Cross-Country team, officially competed in CYO basketball league play, introduced departmentalized schedules for grades 3-5, installed security gates and cameras, implemented more student led prayer, awarded ACE students, just to name a few!
When we have such dedicated staff, such improvements become a part of our culture. I won’t say that change is easy and that we effortlessly move from one project to another. In fact, there are always obstacles that need to be addressed, sometimes some that we may not have expected. But because we are driven by a common mission, the work simply defines who we are. As an entire learning community, we remain committed to all our children and for providing the very best for them.
Some other key updates:
In order to facilitate a smooth transition in September, please review some of the key opening procedures below.
Please note that New York State law requires every new student to submit a completed medical form before the child can be admitted to school. You may pick up a form from school, if you have not done so already. Lead testing is mandated for all children under six years old.
As a new change this year, all fees have been spread out over all the months. This was done to eliminate the burden of seeing a significant jump in payment a particular month when the administrative fee was applied. All parents should be enrolled in the Smart Tuition Program. Please remember, you must stay current with all tuition payments including After School fees. There is a $40 late fee applied each month for delinquent payments. All payments must be paid directly to Smart Tuition. No cash payments will be accepted in the main office.
Back to School Night – Thursday, September 15th at 6:00 p.m.
Visit your child’s classroom after the general meeting at 6:00 p.m., meet with the teacher, share expectations, and have your questions answered.
8th Grade Parent Meeting - Thursday, September 22nd, at 6:00 p.m
The high school process will be presented along with a follow-up on the TACHS Exam process.
